The operation
High Mountain Heli
High Mountain Heli has been flying skiers into the mountains around Jackson Hole since 1974. Its guides are trained in Outdoor Emergency Care, CPR, avalanche forecasting and mountain rescue, refresh their training every season, and meet or exceed Heli-Ski US Association standards.
HMH flies A-Star helicopters from two bases: the Snake River Sporting Club, about 13 miles south of Jackson, and Teton Springs Lodge & Spa near Victor, Idaho, on the west side of the range.
It’s Andy’s pick for the best heli-skiing in the lower 48 — and with Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and Grand Targhee next door, a down day just means a resort day.

The terrain
Four ranges south of Jackson Hole.
The tenure covers the Snake River and Palisades ranges plus parts of the Wyoming, Teton and Gros Ventre ranges: big open bowls, steep chutes, and some of the best tree and glade skiing anywhere.
